Lyman H. Maxson died at his home in Beloit Thursday evening, Feb. 3, aged 79 years. The deceased was born at Alfred, N.Y., removing to this state when a young man and settling in the town of Albion, where he lived for nearly half a century. Nine years ago the family removed to Beloit, which has since been their home. About a year ago he fell a victim to pneumonia and since then a decline was quite noticeable. By premonition he was ably to see the death which awaited him and spoke of his feelings in that regard saying he was going to die. About 8 o'clock he was taken with an attack of apoplexy. The doctor was called but could render little assistance and a few hours later he died.
Mr. Maxson was a veteran of the civil war enlisted in the 13th Wis. Vol. Inf. in a company made up in this locality. For several years he was a member of H. S. Swift Post G.A.R. of this city. His widow and three sons, two of whom live in Beloit, and J.P. Maxson of Wellsville, N.Y., survive. The remains were brought here by train Monday and interment took place in the Evergreen cemetery at Albion.
