In Wirt, Allegany Co., N. Y., April 4th, of consumption, Lydia Rogers, consort of Clark Rogers, and daughter of Maxson Stillman, aged 34 years.
The subject of this notice experienced religion in early life, and united with the first Seventh-day Baptist Church in Alfred, where she remained a worthy member, until she removed to Genesee and united with the first church there, of which she was an ornament until called to join the church triumphant; where judging from her life and the Christian patience and love manifested in her death, we fully believe she sits clothed in unfading and untarnished glory.
Her sickness was of a lingering nature, yet she appeared reconciled to the will of her Divine Master, and in her death her language was, "Come, Lord Jesus. Come."
She has left a husband, wounded and broken hearted, to mourn her departure, and a group of children to sigh and grieve for one of the most tender-hearted mothers. The church has lost one more of its lights. By this dispensation, we are reminded that the day of our redemption draweth nigh.
