"On 4 November 1718, the Court appointed John Janes of Hartford to be guardian of Francis Flowers and Anne Flowers, minor children of Lamrock Flowers. … The appointment of John Janes as guardian has led some to suggest that Lydia remarried this person after Lamrock's death, but who he is is a mystery. Barbour (1982), Trumbull (1886) and the Janes genealogy (Janes, 1868) are all silent on him--even when one examines Hartford residents surnamed James or Jones, although Barbour (p. 543), provides the marriage. Certainly at the time he became the guardian of Francis2 and Anne2, Lydia had not married him since she was compensated for her administratix duties under the name of Flowers. There is no record of her death."
