Subject: Lydia (Lewis) Parker Date: Fri, 29 Sep 2000 10:22:41 EDT From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Hello, David, I've just noted your data on the Parker families on Roots Web's World Connect Project. Lydia was a sister to one of my Lewises. I don't have much more info than you do but I do know that her parents were Abijah Lewis (1765-1832) and Sarah (last name unknown). Lydia was born in Nelson County (not Muhlenberg) KY and married in Nelson (not Muhlenberg). You probably picked up Muhlenberg because there is a small place in that county called Nelson. It's hardly more than a wide place in the road. Lydia was born probably on the Rolling Fork River which runs to the south of present-day Nelson County. You can check a road atlas to see that Muhlenberg County (my home county) and Nelson County are a little distance apart. When Lydia was born, Nelson County was much larger than it is today. I'm sending a blind copy of this email to a person I've recently discovered who has some Parker roots. Perhaps she will wish to correspond with you or at least look at the data on the World Connect Project. At any rate, just wanted to add what I knew about Lydia.
