Norwich, 15 Aug. 1679 (Ibid., 1:15); d. at Newent in Norwich, 16 April 1768 (ibid., 1:64), son of Josiah2 (William1) and Grace (Holloway) Read of Norwich (Sophia Hayward Hoyt, 'Ancestry of Judith (Reed) Gallup.' Typescript, New England Historic Genealogical Society, Boston, 23-28). He is buried in Ames Cemetery, Lisbon, with his wife, where the gravestones may still be seen.
