Facts and Events
Luther and Carrie were neighbors before marrying. Luther left a diary with his daughters Pauline and Ruth detailing his farm life on Washburn Hill in Lyme for many years. The house was still occupied in 1996 by Pauline and Ruth. Pauline at that time was the town historian for Lyme and the source of almost all of the Whittemore genealogy in this work. Chester and Eleanor Claff in the 1980s copied a carton full of information and pictures loaned to them by Pauline, while they camped on the Connecticut River in Lyme. |
