SAMPLES, LURANA w/o John nee Perkins 4/23/1819 KY - 7/1/1872 * This plot is located near Samples Creek, the present Lawrence Rogers farm. The home is in Phelps Co., the burial ground in Dent Co. There are several unmarked graves including other members of the Samples family. This farm was later owned by Coon Black. Much information is contradictory concerning her maiden name. Her son, Gregory says her maiden name was Reed, but another source says Perkins.
