Lulu Murray Sargent, 98, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 1987, in the McMurray Manor Nursing Home McCurray.
Born August 24, 1889, in West Freedom, Clairon County, she was the oldest resident of Beallsville and the daughter of Cornelius and Myra Russell Murray.
Mrs. Sargent was a resident of Beallsville for the past 72 years.
In earlier years she was active in the Beallsville United Methodist Church, where she had been a member since 1915.
On January 5, 1915, she married Carl Aiken Sargent, who died October 8, 1965.
She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Samuel L. (Dorothy) VanEman of Canonsburg; one sister Marjorie Murray of Meadville; two grandsons, Samuel and John VanEman, both of Canonsburg; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased in addition to her husband are three sisters and two brothers; and one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth VanEman.
