Lula Neal King, 96, Pine Knot, Ky., died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at McCreary County Health Care Facility. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Sunday, May 7, at the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Bryant officiating. Burial was in Upper Marsh Creek Cemetery. Born Oct. 31, 1903, in Marsh Creek, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Tommy and Elizabeth Meadows Lay. She was a homemaker and member of Ross Grove Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Edgar Neal; her second husband, the Rev. Ebb King; a step-daughter, Alice Trammell; four brothers, John, P.R., Lewis and William Lay; and three sisters, Bertha Blevins, Ada Murphy and Elsie Sterky. Survivors include a son, Fred (and Ina) Neal, Milford, Ind., a step-daughter, Edna Coffey; three grandchildren, Debra Beatty, Dan Neal and Dale Neal; and five great-grandchildren. McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
