Biography of Lucy Sherman
Lucy Sherman was born in Grafton, Massachusetts on 25 Oct 1766, the daughter and third child of Asaph Sherman and Lucy Whitney[1]. She met Joseph Browning of Rutland, Massachusetts and they married on 30 August 1786[2]. After the birth of their fourth child, her husband, Joseph Browning, moved his family from Hubbardston, Massachusetts to Barre, Vermont about 1793 and settled on a farm[3]. They had a family of twelve children. She died in Barre, Vermont 30 Aug 1851, and is buried beside her husband and several of their children in Wilson Cemetery in Barre, Vermont[6].
