Biography of Joseph Browning

Joseph Browning, the son of James Browning, Jr. and Rebecca Scott was born at Rutland, Massachusetts on Nov 21, 1760[1]. He married Lucy Sherman, daughter of Asaph Sherman in Rutland, Worcester, Massachusetts[3]. Joseph Browning, with his wife and four children, came from Hubbardston, Massachusetts to Barre, Vermont in 1793 and settled on a farm[2]. They had a family of twelve children. He died in Barre, Vermont 26 Dec 1831[3], and is buried in Wilson Cemetery in Barre, Vermont[4].
