Quality: 4 Lucy O. (Onushco) Straup King, 88, of Third Street, Palmerton, died Saturday morning in Blue Mountain Health Systems, Palmerton Campus. She was the wife of Richard A. King since Nov. 11, 1979 and the late Allen E. Straup. Born in Minersville, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late John and Ann (Beretsky) Onushco. Lucy worked as a registered nurse for Palmerton Hospital for 30 years and was a 1939 graduate of Palmerton Hospital School of Nursing. Previously, she worked as a registered nurse for Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Lucy was an avid golfer and was a member of Blue Ridge Country Club since 1945. She was a member of the Tuesday Ladies League and played for the womens club championship several times.
Survivors: Husband; son, Dr. Robert Straup and his wife, Susan Holmes Straup, of Anderson, S.C.; three grandsons, Michael, Richard and his wife, Stephanie, all of Anderson and Ryan of Charleston, S.C.; stepdaughters, Judy, wife of Dr. Robert Mlkvy, of Palmerton, Kathy, wife of Les Gerhart, of Palm, Pa.; stepson, Roger and his wife, Joan King, of Palmerton; nine stepgrandchildren, 16 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services: memorial Mass, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, Pa. 18071.
