In Milton, Wis., Oct. 8th, 1872, of typhoid dysentery, Lucy Ann Babcock, wife of Abel Babcock, in the 70th year of her age. The deceased united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Scott, N. Y., many years ago, with her companion; and though they moved to the West nearly thirty years since, they did not remove their church membership. Sister Babcock gave evidence in her daily deportment of being a sincere Christian; and in the near approach of death, expressed herself as feeling happy and resigned. The deceased was the mother of twelve children, seven of whom survive her. On account of partial blindness, she was but little from home; and here or elsewhere she was uniformly kind, confiding, affectionate and faithful. 'Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.' L. C. R.
