Daughter of John B and Mary E Hobbs. Married first to John C McCarty and they were the parents of Joseph G McCarty (1852-1905-Panther Creek Cem) married Nancy J Haynes; Felix McCarty (1854-1887--Cates Cem) married Eliza Ellen Neighbors; and Mary "Mollie" McCarty (1856-1913--Ellis Cem) who married John J Huff. Lucy married second to Henry Whitely.
Obit: Mrs Lucy Whitely, widow of the late Henry Whitely, died Saturday morning at the home of her son, Mr Ves Whitely. She was sixty seven years old and a member of Zion Baptist Church. Her funeral was conducted Sunday at the home of her son by Rev J J Cloar. She leaves a large family of children and grandchildren. Published in the Owensboro, KY newspaper on April 21, 1903--death date may have been April 18.
