  4. The death record gives Lucinda's parents as Samuel Moore and --- Johnson. It and the censuses indicate she was born in Connecticut in 1790 or 1791. The only person that satisfies this description is the daughter of Obadiah Johnson and Lucinda Cobb. But she is said to have married John Backus (several newspaper clippings in the Hale Collection, e.g. this one, (viewable at Family History Centers)), and her age at death match the birthdate exactly (see gravestone. So still looking.

    Noting a deed in Hampden county, Vol. X, p. 122, and p. 123, which may or may not be pertinent.
