Lucille Elizabeth (Reitz) Phillips, 91, formerly of Slatington, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at The Phoebe Home, in Allentown, where she had been residing. She was wife of the late LeRoy W. Curly Phillips. Born in Slatedale, November 9, 1919, Lucille was the daughter of the late Edgar P. and Hattie S. (Blose) Reitz. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Holiday Fashions in Slatedale for 20 years before retiring in 1982. Lucille was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Slatington and a former choir member and Sunday School Teacher at the former Holy Trinity Union Church in Slatedale for 20 years.
Survivors: Sons, Dr. Lee R. Phillips and his wife, Susan, of Allentown, Richard E. Phillips and his wife, Barbara, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Chad, Jessica, Lori, Amanda and Carrie; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Kaly, Christian, Riley, Eva, Ethan, Olivia, Colbie and Sofia. Service: Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Slatedale Cemetery.
