HENDRIX, Loyce June TULLIS - 1923 - 2004 Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, May 10 2004 - Loyce June Tullis Hendrix, daughter of Cleveland M. and Minnie E. (Scrogham) Tullis, was born January 6, 1923, in Brownington, and died at the Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, on April 22, 2004, at the age of 81 years. June had lived in the Henry County area most of her life. She married Dennie Hendrix in Springfield March 28, 1942. To this union one daughter, Vonna Lee, was born. Dennie preceded her in death. June was a member of the American Red Cross, Clinton chapter, for many years where she was executive director for 20 years. She was also a member of the Camp Fire girls, Inc. for over 20 years where she held many offices. She was a member of First Christian Church, Clinton, where she served in many capacities, including elder and church historian. June was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dennie. She is survived by her daughter, Vonna Young and husband Melvin "Moe"; two grandsons, David Young and wife Mary, Clinton, and Danny W. Young and wife Ellen, Green Ridge, as well as six great-grandchildren, Cole Young, Collin Young, Danielle Young, Tanner Young, Kerri Young and Emily Jones. Graveside services were held at Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington, Monday, April 26, 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Howard Cupp, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Townsend, Bob Pattison, Don Goslin, Larry Cooper, Steve Baker and Scott Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Chet Ancell, Charles Fry, Carl Parks and Jack Parscale. Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton.
