    Lowell James Davis of Boise, formerly of Nampa and McCall, . . . passed away at his home on Saturday, March 22, 2014. . . . A Graveside Service to honor his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
    Lowell was born on January 16, 1921, to Francis "Bud" and Myrtle E. (Scott) Davis in Lebanon, Oregon, where his mother traveled for his birth. [The] . . . family's home {was} in McCall, Idaho, where he was raised. Lowell was the fourth son and fifth child of five children.
    Lowell was a World War II veteran, joining the Army Air Corp in 1941. He was honorably discharged as a Communications Specialist in 1945. He met his wife . . . in England . . . [and] married on February 3, 1945. . . . After the war, . . . they lived in Star and New Meadows before moving to McCall in 1954. . . . Lowell worked for the U.S. Forest Service in fire management for 23 years before retiring in 1979. . . .[and] moved to . . .Nampa in 1983.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Myrtle Davis, his brothers Elwin, Leon "Lyn", Pete, and his sister Carolyn Barnard.
