Louise Chandler Coble November 24, 2007 11:54 PM BURLINGTON — Mrs. Louise Chandler Coble, 87, of Twin Lakes, 100 Wade Coble Drive, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Friday, November 23, 2007, at 3:35 p.m.

A native of Mecklenburg County, Va., she was the wife of the late George Rankin Coble, Sr. and the daughter of Joe Beale Chandler and Esma Clement Chandler, both deceased. She was a teacher, deacon, elder and trustee of Graham Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Covenant Class of the Graham Presbyterian Church; awarded a Life Membership in the Presbyterian Women and a former president of Presbyterian Women; and is a member of the Leornian Study Club where she served as president. She was a homemaker and former teacher in Virginia and North Carolina. She was a principal at 16. She was educated at Virginia High School, Va., Longwood College, East Carolina University, and N.C. State University. She and George delivered Meals on Wheels for years.

Survivors include one son, Mr. George R. “Ran” Coble of Raleigh; one daughter, Ms. Ellen Clement Coble of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. Spillman (Josephine) Grimsley of Hilton Head, S.C., Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Llewellyn of South Boston, Va.; one brother, Mr. Wallace L. Chandler of Richmond, Va.; and daughter-in-law, Ms. Jane Kendall.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Clayton T. (Laura V.) Mills of Alexandria, Va. and three brothers, Mr. Joe Beale Chandler of South Boston, Va., Mr. T. Lindy Chandler of Richmond, Va., and Mr. C. Clement Chandler of South Boston, Va.

The Memorial Service will be conducted at Graham Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. by the Rev. Steve Braswell. Burial will be at Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Guilford County on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 10 a.m.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church parlor.
