1831 - Louisa was christened at the same time as sisters Harriet and Adelaide.

1841 - Appears to be Louisa Wright, aged 15, Prisons Dressmaker, at Ossulstone, London. Her sister Martha also appears to be recorded on the census with the same details.

13 June 1842 - The Central Criminal Court convicted Louisa of larceny for stealing a watch and on suspicion of stealing clothes. She had a previous jail conviction. She was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and transported to Australia on "Garland Grove" (2). It departed from Woolwich 2 October 1842 and took 110 days to arrive in Van Diemen's Land on 20 January 1843. There were 191 females who embarked and of these 182 disembarked. The Master was William B. Forward and the Surgeon was William Bland. At the time Louisa was single. The surgeon's report states her health was very good.

From the Tasmanian Convict CD, the following records relate to Louisa Wright: Convict Number 86231. Ship Name Garland Grove (2). Departure Port Woolwich Departure Date 2/10/1842. Arrival Date 20/01/1843. Conduct Record CON40/10. Indent CON15/2. Description List CON19/2.

Physical Description: Height 4 foot 9 inches. Age 21. Trade: Servant of all work. Complexion: Fair. Head: Round. Hair: Light Brown. Visage: Round. Forehead: Low. Eye Brows: Light Brown. Eyes: Grey. Nose: Pointed. Mouth: Small. Chin: Round. Native Place: Lincolns Inn Fields. Read or Write: Read. Remarks: Scar on forefinger left hand; mole on right side. Ship Character: Good.

Relations: F. Stephen at N.P. 4 B, Benjamin, Thomas, ?, and John or Jim. 3. G, Martha, Harriet, and Adelaide. This seems to confirm that Louisa's parents were Stephen Wright and Margaret Turbitt were her parents as the father's name and several of the siblings are definite matches.

On arrival in Tasmania, Louisa was assigned to [Mr?] Barrett.

Disciplinary Record: 8th August 1843, Barrett, Insolence, reprimanded. 20th October 1843, Barrett, Repeated insolence, 4 months hard labour. 15 March 1844, 2 class. 17th May 1844, Portlick, Disobedience of orders, 14 days solitary confinement. ?? August 1844??-: 3 Class. This woman was delivered of an illegitimate child, see memo A. Gardiner Esquire 21 May 1845. 20th May 1845, granted a Ticket of Leave.

1845 - Louisa is recorded as giving birth to an illegitimate child prior to her marriage to Frederick Pointon on 13th June 1845. Although the child is not named, records suggest that this child was Samuel Robert, born 15th May 1845.
