    BIOGRAPHY: Louisa Wilson
LOUISA WILSON was born on 26 December 1789 in either Greenbriar County or Augusta County, West Virginia, and died on 14 May 1854 in Braxton County, West Virginia of dropsy. She married on 13 Oct 1813 in Strange Creek, Braxton County to John Jarrett Murphy, son of Patrick Murphy and Elizabeth Spenser. John enlisted for the War of 1812 (pension No. 6433), but saw no actual service. John and Louisa settled on a farm on Elk River in Braxton County, two miles from his father's home. He always carried a rifle as the county was still wild enough to have many bear, panther, wolf and deer. An accident led to his death on his farm. He wrote his will on 27 April 1853 and died two days later. John and Louisa have an elaborate bronze tombstone in the Murphy cemetery near Glendon, West Virginia. It reads: John J.
