  6. Coolidge, Orville William. A twentieth century history of Berrien County, Michigan. (Chicago, Illinois: Lewis Publishing Co., 1906)
    page 412.

'At one time there were five brothers and a sister of this family living in the county, namely: Sterling, Squire, John, Harley, Farley and Mrs. Susanne Snyder, the wife of Warren Snyder. After ten or fifteen years, however, all the family removed to other localities except the sister and John and Farley Howard. ... Mrs. Warren Snyder, however, lived and died here, passing away at the age of fifty-six years.'

  7. Louisa A Snyder, in Michigan. Secretary of State. Death Records, 1867-1897. (Lansing, Michigan)
    Berrien County, 1877; p. 73; #178.

    Louisa A Snyder, female, married
date of death: Mar 20, 1878
    age: 57 years, 6 months, 3 days
    place of death: Bainbridge
    cause of death: dropsy heart
    birth place: New York
parents: John and Sarah Howard of Jefferson Co, N.Y.

This entry is stroked out - presumably because it was for 1878 and the report (Return of Deaths in the County of Berrien, completed July 20, 1878) was for the year ending Dec 31 1877. There does not appear to be another record for her death in the 1878 return.

It is not clear why her parents are named as John and Sarah Howard, assuming that her identity as the daughter of Joseph and Purley (Franklin) Howard and sister of Sterling, Squire, John, Harley, Farley (as identified in the 20th Century History of Berrien County) is correct. Her parents were dead, as was her brother John (who did not marry a Sarah). Possibly John and Sarah Howard were other relatives.

The year has been transcribed as 1877 in "Find a Grave", but as 1878 in a transcription produced for the Berrien County MI-USGENWEB Project, which used additional sources besides the cemetery transcriptions (see source "Cemeteries of Berrien County, Michigan").
