Sir James Salmon, MD, RN, Inspector Gen of Hospitals and Fleets, Hon Physician to the Queen, d. 17dec1886, age 75; he was youngest son of David Salmon of Irvine, was twice marr, (1) in 1845 to Elizabeth, dau of William Paul Williams of Penryn, Cornwall, (2) in 1860 to Louisa, dau of Lieut Nelson Elliott, RN (Illustrated London News, findmypast). In 1871 James Salmon (1812 Scotland, Inspector Genl Hospital), wife Louisa (1829 Southend, Essex), children, Louisa Russell (1862 Gosport, Hamps), Alice Isobel (1863 Gosport), James Nelson (1864 Woolwich, Kent), Edith (1867 Woolwich), were at Royal Naval Hospital, Alverstoke, Hamps (census).
