Louis Meredith Hall, 75, a life long Rush County resident, passed away June 15, 2015 in Greenfield. He was born July 16, 1939 in Rushville to the late Lionel M. & Eva (Browning) Hall. Louis was a 1957 graduate of Mays High School. He served in the USAF and the USAF Reserves and was called back for active duty during the Cuban Crisis. Louis married Joy Jean McCauley on November 10, 1963 and she survives.
He farmed many years and had also worked as a carrier for the Rushville Post Office. He retired from the state of Indiana in 2001 after 17 years working as a clerk in the storeroom at both the New Castle State Hospital and the Pendleton Correctional Facility. Louis was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church in New Castle. He was an avid gun collector & enjoyed shooting.
In addition to his wife, Joy, of Rush County, he is survived by his daughters, Amy Rumple & husband Frank of Shelbyville, Melinda Hall of Rush County, a son, Louis Michael Hall of Leadville, CO and grandchildren, Katelyn Nicole Rumple, Kason Monroe Rumple and Samuel Meredith Hall.
Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor James Becker presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 10:30 AM until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
