    Louella King, 87, of Tell City, passed away at 6:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

    Louella was born in Bristow, Indiana on December 27, 1920, daughter of the late Will Esarey and Eva Jones Esarey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell King in 1978, one brother, Allen Esarey and a grandson, Jeffrey King.

    Louella was a retired cook, who enjoyed gardening, flowers and genealogy. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Paul Quilters group, she served on the funeral meal committee and was a minister to the shut-ins. Louella was a volunteer for the Council of Agencies where she restored dolls and doll clothing for needy children. She also had cared for foster children for many years.

    She is survived by six sons, James King, Greencastle, Indiana; Curtis King, Troy, Indiana; Ralph King, Dandridge, Tennessee; Michael King, Evanston, Indiana; Edward King, Moores Hill, Indiana; and David King, Santa Claus, Indiana. Also a brother, Gilbert Esarey, Bristow, Indiana; and 16 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Tell City. Rev. Barnabas Gillespie O.S.B. will officiate. Visitation is from 3:00 – 8:00 PM Monday and 8:00 until 9:30 AM Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel where a parish prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM Monday.

    Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
