NOTE: There is another "John W. Esarey" in Perry County (though usually in Oil Township), who was born in 1885, and who married Emma Neal in 1911. These are definitely TWO DIFFERENT MEN, though many secondary sources make unfounded assumptions and show them as the same person with two wives. There is also a third "John W. Esarey" of roughly the same age next door in Spencer County. The three men are probably cousins.
