!BIOGRAPHY: Powell, fourth son of Daniel Baker, was born February 22, 1858. He married Lottie E. Collamer of Malta Ridge on October 22, 1884. They bought a farm in Malta They had three children: (1) Valentine C., born February 8, 1886. (2) Dora L., born October 9, 1887. (3) Matie P., born April 17, 1889. Powell died on September 16, 1888, after a few days illness at the early age of thirty. He is buried in the Baker Cemetery. (I) Valentine is an M. D. in New York City. He married Jennie Bell of Kingston on November 28, 1919. (2) Dora is a graduate of Oneonta Normal School and taught school for a few years. At present she has a position with the General Electric Company at Schenectady. (3) Matie was at one time in the employ of the General Electric but is now at home with her mother at Malta Ridge.Information from Baker book p. 42
