Lorenzo Dow "L.D." Creeger, 92, formerly of 3591 W. CR 48, Tiffin, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in Wyandot CO Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky. He was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Hopewell Township, to the late Russell E. and Alma E. (Shaferly) Creeger. His wife, Evelyn D. (Riehm) Creeger, whom he married Dec. 24, 1936, in Bloomville UCC, survives. Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Denise Ann Creeger) Stull of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Roshelle, Wayne, Thomas and Ivory Stull; and a sister, Mrs. Celestia Koch of Fostoria. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Maurice and Elmer Creeger, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Streng and Mrs. Catherine Dundore. A lifetime farmer, Mr. Creeger was a 65-year member of Union United Church of Christ, Bascom, its softball and dartball teams, and taught the Christian Leaders Sunday school class; board member of Bascom Elevator and its bowling team; member of ASCS board; served as clerk of Hopewell-Loudon Board of Education and was a member of the Grange. An avid sports fan, he attended Columbian High School. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, in Union United Church of Christ, Bascom, with the Rev. Jim Michaels and the Rev. Carl Pelzer officiating. Burial will be in Sandridge Cemetery, Bascom. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home, Tiffin, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Union United Church of Christ, Bascom. Memorials may be made to Union UCC or Wyandot CO Nursing Home. |
