About Lorentz Crone

Lorentz "Lawrence" Crone arrived in the American Colonies on the ship "St. Mark" from Rotterdam, Germany abt. 26 September 1741. Also on the same ship was the family of John Caspar Ahlas (Aylor). Two of Aylor's grand-daughters would later marry two of Lawrence Crone's probable sons after their migration from Pennsylvania to Augusta County, Virginia, sometime before 1780, or probably earlier. Lawrence became the brother-in-law of John Casper Aylor's son, Anthony Aylor, as they both married daughters of Heinrich "Henry" Smith/Schmidt of York County, Pennsylvania.

Lawrence Crone likely migrated (with the Aylor family) to an area in Augusta (later Rockingham) County around Linville Creek by about 1780 (or likely a few years earlier) and likely died there prior to 23 November 1792, just a few years before the marriage records of his sons Lawrence and George in Augusta County in 1795 and 1797, respectively.

Lawrence Crone appears to have died (likely in Rockingham County) just prior to the following Chalkley's Vol. 1 record in Augusta County, in November 1792, indicating that he had been party to a suit that was dismissed (abated) after his death:
Vol. 1 - NOVEMBER 23, 1792. - (202-204) Death of Lawrence Crown abates suit.

Lawrence Crone is likely the father of Frederick, Lawrence and George Crone listed in Chalkley's Vol. 2 on a "List of Insolvents and Delinquents" in 1800, indicating that they had migrated to "French Broad", an area known later as including parts of the States of North Carolina and much of Tennessee:
Vol. 2 - Insolvents and Delinquents, 1800: Frederick Crone, to French Broad; Lawrence Croan, to French Broad; George Croan, to French Broad.

Additional information is needed on this family.
