    Obituary distributed by Greenlawn Funeral Homes Lonnie Brightwell After a battle with cancer, Lonnie Brightwell, age 74, Springfield, Mo., passed away peacefully on November 27, 2007, in his home with his wife, Vietta by his side. Lonnie was born July 17, 1933, to Pearl and Hillary Brightwell in Protem, Mo. Lonnie was an Army veteran and graduate of Southwest Missouri State (now MSU). He worked at and retired after almost 30 years from MD Pneumatics (Tuthill) as a drafting supervisor. Lonnie's great enjoyments were his grandsons, genealogy, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hillary and Pearl Brigh[t]well; and his step-mother, Mary Brightwell. His survivors include his wife, Vietta, of 47 years; his son Jeff and his sons, Nicholas and Austin, of California; his son Mike and wife, Melissa, of Springfield, Missouri; and sister Linda and family of Springfield. A memorial service will be held on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in Hillcrest Presbyterian Church where he was a member. No visitation is planned and a private burial will be held. Donations may be made in Lonnie's memory to the Hillcrest Church Building Fund, 818 E. Norton Rd., Springfield, MO 65803. Arrangements are being handled by Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
