HE MARRIED GERTRUDE HOLT ON 17 AUG 1906 IN HANCOCK COUNTY, TENNESSEE. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIED WITH 12 CHILDREN: VERGIE AMY, GEORGE NELSON, BIRDIE MAE, DELCIE LAVIAN, ELMER RAYMOND, COY A, NOLA BERNICE, VIVIAN MARIAN, BERTHA LILLY, JOHN PAUL, LLOYD SAMUEL JR AND ROBERT LUKE.
FOLLOWING IS THE OBITUARY THAT APPEARED IN THE KINGSPORT TIMES NEWS, KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE ON 2 JUL 1943:
Pennington Gap VA – Loyd Samuel Pridemore, 62, a retired minister of the gospel, after a lingering illness died at his home in Pennington Gap, VA, Thursday at 10 a.m.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Pridemore; five sons, Coy, Luke and John of Pennington Gap, Ray of the U. S. Army, and L. S. of the U. S. Navy; five daughters, Mrs. Mae Garrett of Pennington Gap, Mrs. Bernice Burchett and Mrs. Vivian Harr of Kingsport and Mrs. Bertha Nunamaker of Corbin, KY.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Calvary Baptist Church in Pennington Gap on Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Clinton Green and Rev. Will C. Presley officiating.
Burial will be in the Cecil Cemetery at Pennington Gap with the Huff-Nelson Funeral Home of Kingsport in charge.
