Lloyd W "Lefty" Kizer Sept. 30, 1910 -- Nov. 27, 2002
-- ------ Lloyd W "Lefty" Kizer, 92, formerly of 111 Washington St, Bettsville, di ed Wednesday at the Bethesda Care Center where he had resided for over t wo years. He was born in Bettsville to James W and Sarah (Weaver) Kizer and was a li fetime resident. On Nov. 13, 1935, he married Opal Marie Little in Old Fo rt and she preceded him in death on July 14, 1993. Mr. Kizer retired as a group foreman from Basic, Inc. He attended Bettsvil le United Methodist Church, was a charter member of Basic, Inc. Quarter Ce ntury Club and played baseball for the Basic, Inc. team from 1930 to 194 0. A 1931 graduate of Bettsville High School he was a World War II veter an having served in the U.S Army-Air Corps. He was a member of the Bettsvi lle American Legion and was an avid golfer. Survivors include son Ralph (Betty) Kizer of Tiffin; daughter Mrs. Larry ( Karen) Foreman of Fremont; brothers James Kizer II and Ross Kizer, bo th of Tiffin; sister Sharon Wenner of Tiffin; and seven grandchildren a nd 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Philip Gordon Kizer; his twin brother Flo yd Kizer and brother Robert Kizer; and sisters Lela Blume, Florence Heck a nd Annabelle Kizer. Visitation: 5 to 9 p.m, Sunday at the Engle Funeral Home in Bettsville. Services: 11 a.m, Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Martha Gross of ficiating. Special Services: Basic Quarter Century Club services at 7 p.m. Burial: Fairmont Cemetery in Tiffin, with military graveside services prov ided by the Bettsville American Legion.
