Linda J. Eakman, 61, Two Harbors, Minn., died peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, Dec, 3, 2009. She was born Dec. 20, 1947 to Don and Dorothy (Perkins) Redden in Forest City, Iowa. She grew up in Britt Iowa and moved to Crystal, Minn., where she graduated from Robbinsdale High School, Class of 1966. After moving to Two Harbors she owned and operated Motel Two Harbors and the Country Inn. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Two Harbors. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, crossword puzzles, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her mother and sister Rita. Linda is survived by her son and daughters, Jim Eakman, Kelly (Don) Johnsen and Tricia (Mark) Haselow; former husband and special friend, Andy Eakman; father, Don (Audrey) Redden; sisters and brothers, Paul (Georgia) Redden, Dwight (Arlys) Redden, Cathy (Brian) Malone, Mark (Dyann) Redden, Jane (Jeff) Sundin, John (Bonnie) Redden, Mona (Bob) Williams, and Kevin Redden; grandchildren, Reid, Austin, Cole, and Anna Eakman, Melissa and Tiffany Johnsen, and Jacob, Alec, and Brooke Haselow; great-grandson, Landon Johnsen and many nieces and nephews. Linda will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Shawn McMahon MD, Tim, Bobbie Jo and Georgia for their excellent care. VISITATION: 6 p.m. until the Rosary from 7:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 in Cavallin Funeral Home, with visitation continuing at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
