BURLINGTON — Linda McPherson Bowland, 62, of 4643 Andrea Lane, Burlington, passed away at 1:59 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Ruth Shoffner McPherson and the late Jack Dean McPherson. She was a retired teacher at Southern Alamance High School with 32 years service and River Mill Academy with four years service. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the N.C. Retired Teachers Association and a volunteer in the Alamance-Burlington School System.

Surviving other than her mother of Burlington are a son, Ryan McPherson Bowland and wife, Heather, of Snow Camp; a sister, Chloe Dean McPherson of Burlington; a brother-in-law, Raymond R. McPherson of Burlington; and her beloved pets, K. D. and B. B.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Nathan Hooks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and at other times at the residence of the son, Ryan and Heather Bowland, 7519 Coble Mill Road, Snow Camp.
