Lincoln C Damschroder, 97, of Elmore, died Sunday at Otterbein Portage Val ley Care Center, Pemberville.

He was born in at home in Elmore to the now deceased John and Minnie (Schl egel) Damschroder. On Dec. 27, 1934, he married his wife of 68 years, Laur el (Streiffert) and she survives.

He was a self-employed auto mechanic, starting his business in Elmore in 1 946 until retiring in 1971.

Mr. Damschroder was a member of St. Paul Trinity United Methodist church w here he served as a Sunday school teacher for 40 years, past superintenden t, church council (past president) for many years, and was on the Boa rd of Trustees when the church built the education building.

He was also a member of the Farm Bureau, Grange, Elmore Kiwanis Club f or 50 years, past master of the Elmore Lodge for Free and Accepted Mason s, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Elmore Village Council for 12 years, Ha rris Twp Trustees for eight years, Ottawa CO Regional Planning Commissio n, all of which he has served as president. He also volunteered for the Ha rris-Elmore Fire Department, and drove school bus for the Harris-Elmore Sc hool District.

He loved to spend his winters in FL and his summers in Lakeside where he w as an avid shuffleboard player who seldom lost.

He was well liked, a highly respected village man who attended a one-ro om schoolhouse on Ryer Rd in Elmore.

Survivors include his wife Laurel of Pemberville; sons Keith (Judith) Dams chroder of Elmore, and Linden (Claudia) Damschroder of Wilmington OH; gra ndchildren Michael (Cindy) Damschroder, Sherry (Tom) Robey, Brian (Beth) D amschroder, Mark (Alise) Damschroder; great-grandchildren Ryan, Kayla, Pau l, Anna, Cara, Emma, Drew, and Ella; and sisters-in-law Roberta of Elmo re and Edith of Toledo. He was preceded in death by brothers Lester, Clayt on, Walter, Roy and Dale Damschroder.

Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore wi th the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.

Masonic Services: 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home,.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Trinity United Methodist church, El more, with the Rev. Kathleen Kisner officiating.

Burial: Union Cemetery, Elmore.

Memorials: To the church.
