According to Julia Jane's "History of Freda Belle Smith" document, written in 1997, or shortly before, Lillian died of breast cancer, Freda & Robert left Chicago and returned to 1844 VanZee Street from Chicago. Freda took over the household on VanZee Street, with Julia, an infant. She
