In Berlin, N. Y., June 24, 1882, of pneumonia, Lewis D. Green, in the 48th year of his age. When a young man, Brother Green connected himself with the Berlin Seventh-day Baptist Church, with which he remained a beloved member till removed by death.
He was a man greatly respected by all who knew him, and especially so by those with whom he had covenanted to serve the Lord. He was regular in his attendance upon Sabbath worship, and always ready to assist in bearing the financial burdens of the Church. Cut down in the midst of a life of usefulness, we can but deeply mourn his loss, yet we would bow in humble submission to the divine will. But it is his own family who feel the stroke the heaviest. He leaves behind a wife, an aged mother, one brother, and several half brothers. His funeral was numerously attended at his late residence, June 25th, at which time a discourse was delivered from Rev. 21: 1, 'And there was no more sea.' In that sealess clime we hope to meet our brother. B. F. R.
