Hamilton Advocate Hamiltonian, Hamilton, Missouri January 29, 1931 LEWIS M. DRUMM Lewis M. Drumm was born near Abingdon, Ill., on Dec. 26, 1866. He was the second son of Daniel and Louisa Drumm. His death came suddenly during the early morning hours of Monday, Jan. 19, 1931, at his home east of Hamilton. He grew to manhood in Illinois and Kansas. He moved to Missouri with his parents in 1889. He lived the remainder of his life in Missouri and Iowa. Most of his lifetime was spent on the farm. He was in failing health about five years, during which time he was largely confined to his home. On several occasions during these years his condition was critical and death seemed certain, but he would rally again. During these years he ws never able to do his work, and only occasionally was it possible for him to get out. He seemed quite well lately and last Sunday seemed to feel very well. However, he complained of pains in his chest Sunday night. After aid was given he seemed relieved and went to sleep. Later in the night he awakened Mrs. Drumm by a strange noise. Help was summoned at once but he passed away very quietly, his death apparently brought on by heart trouble. Brother Drumm united with the Methodist Episcopal Church very early in life. He proved himself to be a consecrated and consistent church member through many years. With his coming to Hamilton he transferred his membership to the local M.E. church where he was active in its affairs as long as his health and strength permitted. He was as regular in his church attendance as he possibly could be to the very end, having attended church services a week preceding his death. He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Mrs. Katherine Drumm. He also leaves three children, Clarence who has always lived near the home farm, Mrs. Pearl Wylie of Akron, Ohio, and Miss Ruby at home. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters. They are W.S. of Frederick, Okla.; E.L. of Stillwater, Okla.; E.R. of Conway, Iowa; Miss Epha Drumm and Mrs. L.B. Tracy of Marshall, Mo. A host of other relatives and freinds share the sorrow of his passing. When the weary ones we love, Enter on their rest above When the words of love and cheer Fall no longer on our ear Hush! Be every murmur dumb! It is only "Till he come."
