Levi was a soldier in the revolution in 1776 at Ticonderoga and at Cambridge.

NOTE. Stearn's History of Rindge says: "Levi Rugg taught school in Rindge, N. H., between the years of 1780 and 1800. He was one of the men from Swanzey, N. H., who marched to reenforce the Northern Army in 1776. The bounty the town paid to the soldiers of this regiment was for services at Ticonderoga, time 5 months.
