From Bloomville he went to Tiffin,and then to Cleveland, where the compnay remained for one week,when they were ordered to Washington, District of Columbia. Thewere stationed at Fort Bennet, Arlington Heights, and during theterm of service Mr. Kershner was detailed as carpeter. He servedonehundred days, at the expiration of which time he wasdischarged at Camp Cleveland, OH, August 27, 1864. Rufus andEva (Herren) Kershner are the parents of the subject of thissketch. He was born in Seneca CO OH, November 16, 1836.At Bloomville, on the 1st day of January 1860, Christina,daughter of George andHannah (Stout) Sheafer, became his wife.The birth record of their children is as follows: George Dallas,born December 17, 1861; Margaret Ellen, September 16,1865,Jeanette December 13, 1867, deceased; Clara, August 12, 1869,Jane, December 17, 1872, Laura, February 11, 1878, Dessie, March2, 1880.
