cos1776 Note: Not sure what "Slate" is. Slate creek is a tributary of Hinkston creek on which Mt. Sterling is located. Morgan's Station (1793) was located on Slate creek, 7 miles south of Mt. Sterling in what is now Bath county, so it likely refers to this area. Could also be "East Fork Slate" or "Slade" now in Powell County.
