Near Alfred Station, N. Y., May 5, 1894, of paralysis resulting from an accidental fall, Levi Sweet Burdick, aged 67 years, 4 months and 26 days.
Mr. Burdick was one of eleven children - five sons and six daughters - born to Palmer and Martha Burdick. The father and mother, two brothers and two sisters, preceded him to the spirit land. He was a quiet, home-loving man, having always lived on the farm near which he was born. At the death of his father. in 1850. he assumed the duties and responsibilities of the care of the family, consisting of the mother and younger children. He was a member of the Second Alfred Church, and died in peaceful trust that all is well. The pastor of the church being unable to attend the funeral, the services were conducted by the writer. L. A.
