"Mrs. Leunia A. Rudd Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Leunia A. Rudd, 78, a resident of Hunt County for more than fifty years, passed away suddenly shortly after midnight Sunday at her home, 1420 Division street.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the James-Coker-Peters Funeral Home, with Rev. W. B. McDaniel and Rev. W. O. Majors, pastor of Lamar Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Webb Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mrs. Rudd.
Mrs. Leunia Samples Rudd was born in Kentucky on March 24, 1868, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Samples. She came to Texas following her marriage to Charlie C. Rudd, more than 50 years ago and had since made her home in Greenville and Hunt County. Her husband preceded her in death 28 years ago and for many years she had resided in this city. Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Rudd, five of them preceding her in death.
She was a conscientious Christian, having been a member of the Baptist church since early in life. At the time of her death she was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. John Holloway, Mrs. Morris Wallace, Mrs. Frank Hughes, Marvin Rudd and Lennis Rudd, all of Greenville; Walter Rudd, of Celeste; and Mrs. Charles Penton, of Terrell; several grandchildren, including Mrs. Bill Jenkins, of Greenville; and several great grandchildren."
