    Mrs. Louis A. Babcock, 84, a resident of Milton for more than 50 years, died early Wednesday morning at Edgerton Memorial Hospital.
    Lettie L. Lanphere was born in Albion, Wis., on August 19, 1875. She was baptized at the age of nine years by the Rev. Simeon H. Babcock, later to become her father-in-law.
    At 12 years of age her family moved to Hammond, La. Here she was married to Louis A. Babcock on August 13, 1896. In 1899 she and her husband and son returned to Wisconsin, living in Albion for a few years, when they moved to Milton. As a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church she was active in the Women's Circle and especially in the Sabbath School, where she was superintendent of the primary department.
    She was at one time president of the Women's Village Improvement Club and at the time of her death was a member of the past presidents group of the club.
    She was preceded in death by her husband on May 12, 1955. The surviving relatives are: a daughter, Mrs. Paul Blackbourn, Elgin, Ill., two sons, Laurance of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Kenneth, Milton, a sister, Mrs. Edward Lee of Columbus, Ind., a sister-in-law, Mrs. Herbert C. Van Horn, Milton, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
    Services will be held at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, the Rev. Elmo F. Randolph officiating. The body will lie in state in the church parlor from 12:30 until 3:00 o'clock. Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton Junction, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening, Jan 8.
