Brian Le Shivvers, son to this marriage, data added later. Children of LeRoy by previous marriage = Pamela Sue Shivvers, b.11 Nov 1946 and Rodney Lee Shivvers, b. 21 Aug 1949, but wife #1 data unknown by 1997. Also, father-child birth dates require analysis. Rebecca Shivvers reported that LeRoy has a third wife named Charlotte and they have a daughter Valerie, born March 1959.

Death date provided by his daughter, Michelle. I sensed that this marriage of Jean and Leroy ended with tensions, based upon inferences from comments of others. Currently many vague and perhaps even inaccurate data is recorded for this union. The exact divorce date is not known. Frankly, I have omitted researching documentation for much of Jean's life until she first wants to edit my records. I am very hopeful to protect and respect her feelings without accidentally causing her the slightest concern about my collections. Apr. 2007 Jean and I exchanged online messaging and she provided more details regarding her life, including the portion of that with her husband Leroy. She had divorced her first husband, Verlon Reed and had two infants by marriage that she terminated while living with her parents at Des Moines, IA in 1958. She met Leroy and they "eloped" for a quick marriage 19 Mar 1959 at Linesville,Mercer,MO and lived in Leroy's home town of Humeston, IA. Leroy had been previously married, but Jean was not clear on the details of his previous marriage and children (see above data from daughter Jackie). They had three children; Michelle (middle names influenced by a French friend) b. 1961 at nearby Leon, Decatur, IA hospital; Michael, born 1962 at Phoenix. AZ where Leroy was employed by a relative); and Brian, born 1966 in HI where Leroy found other employment, apparently offered by another of his relatives. This was not a comfortable union due to Leroy's drinking and abuses that progressed until Jean divorced him in Hswaii abt. 1973. Jean loved Hawaii, but Leroy did not. Jean's father, John, wanted a grandson, which finally happened with Brian.
