Leroy and his brother James Fenton died on the same day, 3 1/2 hours apart. Newspaper clippings and family information verify this.

From 1904-1910, he was at one time employed by the NY Central Railroad, as a fireman and an engineman. 

From 1910-1913, he worked as a master mechanic on a canal construction job in Canada.

He retired after 35 years as a machine operator for the NY Airbrake, in June 1952.

He was a member of the Watertown Orangemans' Lodge.
