I've been told that Alphonso Jones was a minister in some Pentecostal denomination. My uncle Carlton used to tell funny stories about Uncle Fonsie. I recall one about a machine AJ was said to have invented, which combed your hair and shined your shoes at the same time. The hair-combing device was made out of windshield wipers of a car, and gouged into people's scalp as it tried to comb the hair.
