Leonard currently lives in the family home where he was born on Three Fork Creek. (2002) He states that the home was originally built by a Godfrey Murdock in 1867 with the date inscribed on the fireplace indoors. The barn nextdoor was completed earlier in 1861 while the family apparently lived in a "lean-to" nearby. The foundation still exists. This was the location of the suicide of Harrison Conley in the second story hayloft. Leonard remembers the blood-stained post in the loft when he was a child. Harrison is buried about 3/4 mile away on a hilltop currently owned by the Brown family. No headstone is present.
