Obt for Leonard Hughey: Leonard Hughey Died July 27, 2003 MANCELONA - Leonard Hughey, 84, of Mancelona, died Sunday, July 2 7, 2003, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. He was born in Alba Aug. 9, 1918, the son of Rex and Sarah (Houns hell) Hughey. On July 4, 1942, in Waynesville, Mo., he married Doris Ra ttray, who survives. Leonard was a resident of the Mancelona and Alba area all of his l ife. He was employed by the Antrim County Road Commission and Dura Auto motive in Mancelona, where he retired in 1972. A member of the Antrim Church of Christ in Mancelona, Leonard enj oyed hunting and fishing. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I I. In addition to his wife, Doris, Leonard is survived by three daug hters, Charlotte (Robert) Oliver of Henderson, Nev., Betty Jahn of Radf ord, Va., and Wanda (Donald) Simpson of Mancelona; five granchildren an d five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Millie) Hughey of G rand Rapids. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Olson; son- in-law, Fred Olson; and a sister, Thelma Schepperley. Visitation will take place this evening, July 29, from 6 to 9 p.m . at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at th e funeral home, with Pastor Mark McCool officiating. Interment will fol low in Fairview Cmetery, Mancelona. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadow Brook Medical Care F acility. The Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes is in charge of a rrangements.
