Funeral Will Be Held Sunday

Final Rites Will be Conducted in Mooresville Methodist Church at Two O’clock, Burial There

Roscoe Farmer, former sheriff of Morgan county, died Friday afternoon at four o’clock at his home near Camby after a long illness. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. Mr. Farmer was able to be up and mingle with his friends until recently when he grew worse and his condition had been critical for the past few days.

Mr. Farmer was 66 years of age. He was born on a farm two and one-half miles east of Mooresville and resided there until he was elected sheriff of Morgan county on the Republican ticket. He served as sheriff from 1916 to 1920, being re-elected after his first term of two years. Mr. Farmer made an excellent record in the office of sheriff and retired with the respect and good will of the public.

He located in Camby some time after retiring from office and resided there until his death.

Surviving relatives are his wife, one son, Emmett Farmer, who operates a chain of filling stations, and one sister, Mrs. Cassie Hadley, of Mooresville.

The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock in the Mooresville Methodist church, of which he was a member.

The burial will be in the Mooresville cemetery.
